The brief was to produce the head of a particular actor which looks alive but then dies and decays to reveal a skull eaten by worms. This wasn't a contemporary horror but a Jacobean tragedy - The Revengers Tragedy by Thomas Middleton performed first in 1606.

Once again I had a brilliant director - Melly Still - who asked for an idealised Donatella just as Vindice, her lover and the revenger of the play, would have seen her while haunted from her loss.

The play was performed in the summer of 2008 at the National Theatres Olivier Stage.
